Liriope muscari Variegata

Liriope muscari 'Variegata' is a tufted, grass-like perennial that forms clumps of strap-like, arching, glossy dark green leaves edged with creamy-yellow, that slowly spread via underground runners to knit together into weed suppressing mat. In late summer erect spikes of showy violet-purple flowers, resembling Grape Hyacinth, are held above the foliage. Variegated Lily Turf is an incredibly useful and adaptable plant whose glossy variegated leaves and bright flowers light up areas of shade whilst at the same time preventing weed growth. It is a beautiful plant to line path edges and, in moist soil and full sun, it will grow and flower spectacularly well.
